Dixit 5: Dreams is a unique expansion featuring 84 new, stunningly illustrated cards by Franck Dion – a French illustrator and animated film director. Each card is a miniature work of art, rich in symbolism and ambiguity, sparking players' imagination.

How does the game work?

Dixit is a storytelling card game where players create and guess associations for beautifully illustrated cards. Each round, one player becomes the Storyteller – they select a card from their hand and give a clue that represents it. This clue can be a word, a sentence, a quote, or a fragment of a song or movie – anything the player finds fitting.

The other players choose one of their own cards that they think best matches the clue. All selected cards are shuffled and placed face-up on the table. Players then vote on which card they believe belongs to the Storyteller. The key to success is giving a clue that is neither too obvious nor too obscure – only then can points be scored effectively.

Objective of the game:

The goal is to score the most points by balancing clues cleverly and guessing the Storyteller’s card. Players can also deceive others into voting for their card instead of the real one.

Rules of the game

1. Setup – Each player receives a set of cards (the number depends on the number of players). The first Storyteller is chosen.

2. Giving a clue – The Storyteller selects one of their cards and provides a clue.

3. Choosing cards – The other players choose a card from their hand that best matches the given clue.

4. Shuffling & revealing – All cards are shuffled and placed face-up on the table.

5. Voting – Players (except the Storyteller) vote for the card they believe belongs to the Storyteller.

6. Scoring:

   - If everyone or no one guesses the Storyteller's card – the Storyteller gets 0 points, and the others get 2 points each.
   - If some but not all players guess correctly – the Storyteller and the correct guessers each get 3 points.
   - A player whose card is incorrectly chosen by others gets 1 additional point per vote.

7. Next round – The next player becomes the Storyteller, and the game continues until a set number of rounds is played or the cards run out.
