What kind of Flags are these - Mini The "What Flags" game perfectly combines business with pleasure. This game is exciting fun and at the same time a great opportunity to learn how to identify
national flags (55 countries). Players can also find out and learn the names of the capitals of countries, their area, population, etc.
The game is addressed to children and adults. The aim of the game is to collect as many cards with country flags as possible. The game can be played in two ways.
Number of players from 2 to 4 people
GAME I
Preparation for the game:
One player shuffles all the cards and places the shuffled deck on the table with the flag face up. If the players agree that there will be a time limit
for their response, prepare an hourglass and agree on how many times it will need to be turned until the response time expires.
Game rules:
The youngest player starts the game. Looking at the flag from the card on top of the deck tells which country it belongs to. At the same time,
the player to the left of the responder measures the time limiting the answer with an hourglass - if the time is exceeded,
the next one in the queue responds (turn clockwise). After determining the name of the country, the player picks up a card from the deck and
turns it over. On the back of each card there is the name of the country to which the flag on this card belongs.
If the name read matches the name previously given by the player, he takes the card and puts it next to him. If a player made
a mistake and gave the wrong name of the country, he or she receives a plastic "penalty token" and puts the card at the bottom of the deck,
with the flag up. A player who collects 3 "penalty tokens" during the game is excluded from the game. If a player says in his turn
that he does not know which country the flag on the card belongs to, he does not receive a penalty token, and the card,
after reading the name of the country aloud (on its back side), should be placed at the bottom of the deck with the flag up.
The winner is the one who collects the most cards, and the game ends when the last card from the deck is taken.
GAME II
Preparation for the game:
Before starting the game, lay out all the cards on the table with the flags up so that they do not cover each other. Cardboard tokens with country names
should be placed in the box. The hourglass (used according to the same rules as in the first variant of the game) should be placed on the table.
Game rules:
The selected player (as in the first variant) starts the game by drawing a cardboard token with the name of the country from the box (you are not
allowed to look at the tokens in the box). Then he reads it aloud and looks for a card with the flag of the country corresponding to the name he read.
Once found, he turns it over and all players check the name of the country written on the back of the card. If the name matches the name on the token,
the player takes the token and places it next to him. If the name does not match, the player throws the token back into the box and receives a plastic
"penalty token" as a penalty (you can get 3 penalty tokens during the game - for the fourth incorrect answer, the player is excluded from the game).
Regardless of whether the answer is right or wrong, the flag card remains in its place, face up. Next in line is the player to the left of who finishes his move.
A player who does not know which flag corresponds to the name of the country on the drawn token may answer "I don't know" and throw the token back into the box.
He does not receive a penalty token for this and the next player in line makes his move. The winner of the game is the one who collects the most
tokens with the names of countries (regardless of how many "penalty tokens" he has). Before starting the game, all participants can briefly study the
collection of flags with the names of countries. Game participants can change the rules at their own discretion (e.g. if players have already learned to
determine which country the correct flag belongs to, they can make the task more difficult by requiring the name of the country to also include the
name of its capital)
