"Our Poland" – A Family Board Game Connecting Generations
"Our Poland" is a unique board game created by JAWA to bring families together and encourage learning about history in an engaging way. Designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, this game offers an exciting mix of education and entertainment for players of all ages.
How to Play?
Players move their pawns from the START position towards the FINISH. Along the way, they draw Question Cards, each belonging to one of six key historical periods:
- Regaining Independence,
- The Battle of Warsaw,
- World War II,
- The Communist Era (PRL),
- Solidarity Movement,
- Poland’s Accession to the European Union.
Each card contains three possible answers, but only one is correct. Answering correctly rewards players with "Polish Mark" tokens—a symbol of gained knowledge and strategic thinking.
If a player is unsure of an answer, they can:
- Buy a hint by spending some of their collected tokens,
- Eliminate one incorrect answer, increasing their chances of choosing the right one.
The game ends when the first player reaches the FINISH, but the winner is determined by the total number of Polish Marks collected. This means that speed alone isn’t enough—knowledge and strategy are key!

The game allows for team-based play, making it even more exciting. This mode encourages cooperation, discussion, and shared decision-making, making learning history a more interactive and engaging experience. It’s an excellent way for children to learn from adults while allowing older players to refresh their historical knowledge.
